Scott Barclay
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER
Scott Barclay is the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy
Officer for Surescripts. In this role he works with the CEO and the
Board of Directors to design and execute the firm's strategic
direction. Scott is responsible for ensuring that the strategy is
embedded in Surescripts' internal and external activities,
including the firm's pricing, core value proposition to customers,
and approach to ecosystem innovation that will lower healthcare
costs and improve patient outcomes by leveraging the Surescripts
nationwide network.
Scott joined Surescripts in July 2008, bringing an in-depth
understanding of e-prescribing, the rapidly evolving HIT
environment, and experience from strategic consulting and
investment banking. Before Surescripts, Scott most recently served
as the General Manager for Physician Connectivity at CVS Caremark,
overseeing the firm's approach to eHealth as a retailer and
pharmacy benefit manager while also running iScribe, a subsidiary
e-prescribing company. Scott held the GM role after a number of
years serving in the CVS/pharmacy operations and pharmacy
innovation groups.
Prior to CVS Caremark, Scott worked for the Boston Consulting
Group in Washington, DC, and the investment banking and capital
markets desk for Banc of America Securities in New York, San
Francisco and London.
Scott holds a liberal arts degree in history from the University
of Virginia and an MBA from INSEAD, Paris, France.
