Kelly is engaged with the possibilities and challenges of building nationwide interoperability, from her work on Surescripts Record Locator & Exchange to her participation in the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase and Carequality and Da Vinci Project workgroups. She understands clinicians' information needs firsthand: following in the footsteps of her mother, an EMT, she began her career as a certified nursing assistant at a rural Wisconsin hospital before moving into health IT.
