Recognizing Outstanding Efforts to Improve Patient Safety and Practice Efficiency through the Use of Electronic Prescribing Technology

The Safe-Rx™ Award honors the top 10 e-prescribing states in the nation along with three physicians within these states who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to patient safety through their use of e-prescribing technology.

Results are based on the annual review and ranking of electronic prescribing activity based on the electronic routing of new prescriptions and refill responses transmitted over the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange™, operated by SureScripts®. States are ranked based on the number of prescriptions routed electronically in 2007 as a percentage of the total number of prescriptions eligible for electronic routing.
